Manos del Uruguay Fino is 70% extra-fine Merino Wool and 30% Tussah Silk – a hand-dyed yarn with a wonderfully soft drape and the subtle shimmer that only silk provides. Manos del Uruguay is a nonprofit cooperative, founded in 1968, offering rural women in Uruguay economic and social opportunities. Twelve cooperatives with around 250–350 artisans hand-dye and process every yarn. Fair Trade since 2009 (WFTO) – each skein carries the signature of the artisan and her home village.

With 450 m per 100 g in Light Fingering weight, Fino is suitable for shawls, scarves, lightweight sweaters, and all projects that benefit from sheen and flowing drape. The single-ply structure develops a subtle halo with wear. 43 colors, each hand-dyed – with the intensity and depth that only hand-dyeing achieves.
