A grey-heathered base tone that softens every colour laid over it.

Balayage is made from white and grey baby alpaca, plus one fifth extra-fine merino wool. Even before dyeing, the blend produces a fine heathering, and that is exactly what keeps the colours from sitting flat – they gain depth instead. Pascuali developed the yarn together with designer Melanie Berg. The alpaca comes from Peru, the merino from Patagonia; spinning and dyeing take place in Peru.

In fingering weight you can knit shawls, scarves and light sweaters that drape softly without becoming heavy. For Fair Isle and multicoloured patterns the heathered base is a gain: the transitions between colours look calmer, and the pattern gains depth instead of hard edges. 25 colours to choose from.

A yarn that does not assert its colours, but carries them.
