You all surely know it – the Hitchhiker. For many, it was probably one of the first projects in their knitting career. This little shawl made from just one skein is perfect to tie over a jacket or coat in the cold season, without much dangling stuff. You could knit it in any yarn weight and in all kinds of solid or multicolored yarns, all in knit stitches only.
After a few years, Martina Behm added the Hitchhiker Beyond design – the zigzag edge is no longer on the bottom/side edge but on top, and the whole shawl is now symmetrical! This way it fits perfectly around the neck and can be tied in front.
